This Sunday, November 19th, Christians, Jews, and Muslims will sing with one voice at the Interfaith Choral Festival. The church of St. Jane Frances De Chantal is host to this annual festival benefiting ProJeCt of Easton*.

The centerpiece of the event is the performance of Mark A. Miller’s emotional “I Choose Love.” Miller wrote this piece in response to the shooting at Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, North Carolina in 2015, where a white supremacist murdered nine African Americans.

The combined voices from different denominations will sing the following words:
“In the midst of pain, I choose love. In the midst of pain, sorrow falling down like rain, I await the sun again, I choose love.
In the midst of war, I choose peace. In the midst of war, hate and anger keeping score, I will seek the good once more, I choose peace.”

The Festival is excited to welcome representatives of the Lehigh Dialogue Center to this event. The Center aims to promote the understanding of American and Turkish cultures, and to foster integrity through religious, cultural, and educational activities.

The participating choirs come from:
- St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church
- First United Church of Christ
- Trinity Episcopal Church
- Temple Covenant of Peace
- Bethel Memorial Baptist Church’s Victory Voices
- Lehigh Dialogue Center
- St. John’s UCC of Farmersville
- St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church

The 17th Annual Interfaith Choral Festival is followed by a reception.
