5:15 pm SOI Scholar-in-Residence Dinner with Rabbi Dr. Adam S. Ferziger

Congregation Sons of Israel invites you to join us Shabbat December 13-14 with our Guest Scholar in Residence, Rabbi Dr. Adam S. Ferziger.  Mincha will be at 4:15 p.m., followed by a Friday night dinner at 5:15 p.m.  Professor Ferziger, Bar-Elan University, will speak on “Israelization of Contemporary Judaism:  Reality, Provocation, or Challenge?”  Babysitting will be available during the talk.

Thanks to the generosity of several sponsors, the cost for the dinner is FREE for all CSOI members in good standing and $18 per person for non-members. Your RSVP is required by Dec. 2 to the SOI office at 610-433-6089 or april2715@gmail.com.  (Space is limited and this event will reach capacity. No walk-ins.)

Rabbi Ferziger will speak Shabbat morning on "Rupture, Reconstruction, and Revolution: The Transformation of Women in Orthodox Judaism", and in the afternoon at Shalosh Se'udos on "Why Would A Gadol be-Torah Study English Lierature at Harvard? Rabbi Dr. Aharon Lichtenstein and the Jewish 'Other'".
