Iyengar Yoga is taught by highly-trained, certified teachers who are skilled in their ability to individualize their teaching for each student. They have the unique capacity to demonstrate and break down the poses so they are accessible to students of all skill levels and to seamlessly integrate those with common problems (ie, knee, low back, hip, neck and shoulders, stiffness, etc.) into a general class.
Iyengar Yoga for Beginners is for those who are new to Yoga or new to the Iyengar method. The focus is on standing poses, arm work and seated poses. Forward bending, twisting and backbending is introduced. Students are introduced to their bodies and taught how to relax deeply. Some basic philosophy that is useful to all people is incorporated into each class.
