This is a middle  and high school community gardening kick off event held at Congregation Keneseth Israel.

Several faith communities garden together and donate all of the produce to soup kitchens. A goal of the program, besides feeding the food insufficient, is to build community and learn about each other's faiths.

The Sunday, March 19 event will start with a pot luck lunch at 12:15 at KI. Children are to bring a dish to share reflecting their culture. We will introduce the gardening program to the group. The students will learn about the food insufficient in our community.

After lunch, the children will discuss what they like about their faith in small, age appropriate groups, in a non-threatening way. Each child will be given supplies and plant seeds to be  used in the gardening program. Chaperones will be provided. Parents are welcome to attend, but they are not required to stay.

Groups participating are Congregation Keneseth Israel, Temple Beth El, The Barn, Muslim Association of the Lehigh Valley, Alburtis Muslim Community and Life Church.

There is no charge to attend.
