The B’nai B’rith Apartments is comprised of two 11-story buildings with 270 one-bedroom apartments. The first tenants moved in on April 2, 1979; the second building opened in January 1983.

Connected by an enclosed, plant-filled corridor, the two buildings create one large complex with all tenants sharing the amenities of both buildings.

The buildings are designed to accommodate elderly and mobility-impaired persons. Anyone who wishes to live at the B’nai B’rith Apartments must either be at least 62 years old or a mobility-impaired person who requires the special features of a wheelchair- accessible apartment and who is 18 or older.

The B’nai B’rith Apartments are run by an on-site staff consisting of management staff and maintenance personnel. The management staff, in conjunction with the tenants’ organization, strives to provide the residents with many opportunities for socialization: bingo nights, bus trips, exercise classes, plays and movies and religious services. The management staff also works closely with local organizations to assist the tenants in obtaining needed services.

The complex is governed by the Allentown B’nai B’rith Housing Corporation, a non-profit volunteer Board of Directors composed of men and women from various backgrounds and a representative from the Tenants’ Association. We strive to provide modern, efficient living accommodations while creating the opportunity for residents to continue their various pursuits with enthusiasm, pride and dignity.
