Jim Mueth

Jim Mueth moved to the Lehigh Valley from Kansas City in April 2013 to serve as the Federation's Director of Planned Giving and Endowments. In Kansas City, he served as vice president and philanthropic relationship manager at Bank of America for 15 years. He was responsible for charitable and individual affluent relationships with combined market values in excess of $500 million. Previously he served at predecessor banks as vice president and trust officer. 

A member of the Missouri Bar, Jim received his juris doctor degree from the University of Missouri -Kansas City School of Law and his bachelor of arts in political science from Saint Louis University.

Jim was active in the Kansas City Jewish community, serving on the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City’s Leadership and Engagement Committee and the Jewish Community Relations Bureau Board. At The Temple-Congregation B’Nai Jehudah, Jim has served as member and chairperson of the Cemetery Committee. His involvement at Jewish Family Service of Kansas City includes board member, Development Committee member and community endowment representative to improve planned giving.  He is a graduate of the Helzberg Leadership Fellows, an intensive Jewish community leadership program sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City and the Helzberg Foundation.

Jim co-founded and was the founding board president of Support Kansas City, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides back office and other financial and technical services to a network of smaller non-profit organizations in Kansas City. His community involvement also includes the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Local EngAGEment Initiative, Camps for Kids and the Heart of America Community AIDS Partnership.

Jim and his wife, Shelah, a pediatric physical therapist, have one daughter, Leah, a student at American University in Washington, D.C.

The Jewish Federation’s endowment and planned giving program offers donors tax-wise philanthropic opportunities and provides the Jewish community with an important financial foundation.
