Jewish Continuity Grants

The Jewish Federation allocates funds to certain programs and projects in the community promoting Jewish continuity.

Studies have shown that Jewish camping is a powerful way to build strong Jewish identity and commitment in young people. Thanks to the generosity of the Annual Campaign, the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley offers needs-based scholarships for Jewish resident summer camps such as Ramah, Pinemere, Harlam, Galil, Young Judea and Moshava.

Each year, scholarships are awarded to individuals for Jewish teen education experiences that will enrich the recipients, enhance the community, and increase the likelihood of future engagement with Jewish life.

Teens may request scholarships for:
-  Jewish summer camps
-  Jewish youth group summer programs
-  Conventions
-  Certain trips to Israel

The Jewish Family Life Education grants are distributed among synagogues on a membership-based formula. Many creative programs have been implemented and clearly supplement existing synagogue religious school programming. The grant is not intended to fully fund the programs; synagogues are expected to contribute toward overall costs.
