The Yoav-Lehigh Valley Partnership2Gether is kicking off the Jewish Federation’s new 2027 campaign year with two popular programs in October designed to bring members of our local community and our partners in Israel together for fun, learning, and bonding.
The first in a series of Learn Hebrew Together classes starts at 11 a.m. Sunday, October 11. There are eight 60-minute Zoom sessions, all on Sundays, with the last scheduled for December 13.
In interactive sessions, the Israelis, all native Hebrew speakers will lead a Hebrew learning experience designed for adults, including those with no previous understanding of the language. The goal is to build useful, everyday vocabulary and boost speaking confidence while strengthening the connection with Israeli culture and our friends in Yoav.
Participants will be able to practice their Hebrew with the Israelis all along the way on WhatsApp. Cost for the eight classes is $100. Register at jewishlehighvalley.regfox.com/ivrit-together-hebrew-class.
Learn to Make the Malka Family’s Honey Cake will also be on October 11, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. In a joint celebration of the High Holidays, members of the Lehigh Valley and Yoav communities will learn together from Mazal and Itzik Malka how to make the family’s sweet and warm honey cake.
This demonstration is free to attend via Zoom. Register at jewishlehighvalley.regfox.com/p2g-rosh-hashanah-cooking. You’ll receive the Zoom link and the cake recipe after you register.
The effort of the last few years to draw the Lehigh Valley and Yoav closer together will continue throughout the Jewish Federation’s 2027 campaign year and beyond.
