Barbara Sally Refowich, 73, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospice House. Born on March 15, 1952, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Richard S. Refowich and Berenice M. (Lehrer) Refowich. A proud graduate of Freedom High School, Class of 1970, Barbara went on to attend Bethlehem Business School. Her education laid the foundation for a successful career as the devoted office manager of her father's dermatology practice, where she was admired for both her professionalism and her warmth.
Barbara's Jewish faith was a guiding light in her life, offering her strength, purpose, and deep compassion. She was a faithful member of Congregation Keneseth Israel and was always generous with her time and kindness-never hesitating to support a friend or offer comfort to those in need. Barbara lived life with a sense of curiosity and joy. She was an avid traveler, embracing new cultures and experiences with enthusiasm. Music brought her great peace, especially when playing the guitar or harp. Her love for animals ran deep-she shared her home and heart with her cherished cats, Ebony and Linus, as well as many beloved German Shepherds and Poodles over the years. To Barbara, they weren't just pets-they were family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Refowich. Barbara will be dearly missed by her extended family and many close friends who will remember her for her gentle heart, generous spirit, and the warmth and laughter she brought into their lives.
