Florence B. Zales

Florence B. Zales “Flossie” - of Lantana, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026. She was 87 years old.  She was the wife of Jerome J. Zales, the love of her life for over 40 years.  Born in Olyphant, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Kline) Berg.

Flossie attended Cedar Crest College and Marywood College, where she graduated with honors and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  She was an avid singer and actor performing in numerous plays and shows while in school.  She carried her love of singing throughout her life, joining her community’s choral group and singing in various talent shows.

She was most proud of being a wife and mother, but she also worked as an educator in the Scranton and Cherry Hill School Districts. She was a proud member of Temple Beth El, Allentown. Flossie was never afraid to speak her mind, writing op-ed pieces and letters to the editors supporting her most important causes.

Flossie was survived by her Husband, children and grandchildren:  Jerome, David B. Zales (Allison) and Stephen J. Zales (Elyse).  She was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren: Joshua, Ethan, Marlee, Jeremy, and Evan.
