The Adult Education Committees of Temple Beth El and Congregation Keneseth Israel invite you to attend a staged reading of New Jerusalem, a play by David Ives; this play is about Spinoza's defense of his excommunication. Spinoza is considered to be the first modern Jewish thinker. This fictionalized account of his 17th century excommunication trial poses relevant and timely questions for Jews even today.

This staged reading of the play will be directed by Charles Richter, Director of Theater, with an introduction by Dustin Nash, Assistant Department of Religion Studies, both of Muhlenberg College.

Havdalah • Dessert Reception • Post-performance Q and A.

Tickets are $18 in advance - pay online at KILV.org Online payment
or by mail to Temple Beth El or KI by January 26.

Tickets will be $25 at the door.
